As the founder of myhq, business lounge, serviced office, and networking club with a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, John is the ultimate networking hub personified.
He radiates quality connections in all directions to strategic partners, entrepreneurial groups, investors, suppliers, and clients across local, national and global arenas by running workshops, seminars, and networking events that ignite win-win connections.
John is particularly experienced in managing investor relations and capital raising, developing new business, and penning engaging member newsletters and updates with a ceaseless flow of opportunities for business people to connect with others and educate themselves so they may accelerate their power to create wealth and contribute to society.
Concurrently, John drives XL Australia, Asia’s leading entrepreneur and social enterprise network, from within myhq in Perth. Under his leadership, XL Australia and XL Perth have achieved the distinguished status of fastest growing city and country worldwide for several years since 2006 and are still growing strong.
As a technology entrepreneur, John has blazed a trail from South Africa to Perth and across Australia. From the sale of the first fully multimedia commercial CD-ROM sold outside South Africa in 1992, to building and rebranding web business solutions company Digital Junction to Platform Interactive in 2002 and raising capital to expand PI into Melbourne in 2005, a highlight of John’s technology run was generating $1 million in sales and capital raising in 2007. He has presented to Curtin University of Technology’s Business School, been interviewed on ABC Radio 702 by WA Business News, and been featured in various publications across Australia. In his spare time, John is a mad golfer, avid mountain biker and gracious host to guests from around the world at his home with beautiful wife Roz and their small zoo of furred and feathered friends.
